Sharing is caring!

Halloween is fast approaching and it will look much different than in the past years. You may be trying to figure out how to celebrate this year and let the kids have fun while remaining safe. Not to worry, we have put together a list of 13 ideas to have a fun and safe Halloween this year during the pandemic.

Visit a Pumpkin Patch

Visit your local pumpkin patch and pick a great pumpkin to carve. Some pumpkin patches are even offering a drive thru service. This way the family can have a fun and safe Halloween.

Carve a Jack-O-Lantern

When you return home with your freshly picked pumpkin, it’s time to carve it up. Nothing says Halloween like carving a pumpkin. Carve a classic Jack-O-Lantern face or get creative and try a witch or a cat. Use your imagination and have fun.

Roast Pumpkin Seeds

After you carve your pumpkin, take the seeds and roast them for a great Halloween treat. Here is an easy recipe for great tasting pumpkin seeds.

Decorate your House

Decorate your house like it’s Christmas! Hang white and orange lights, set up Halloween inflatables, set up a scarecrow or a witch and place some pumpkins on your porch with some faux spider webbing.

Bake Halloween Cookies

Grab the kids and head to the kitchen for some baking fun. Amazon has great cookie cutters with 12 different shapes. Make witches, ghosts, cats and more. Not only will you be making fun treats, you will be making memories that will last a lifetime.

Halloween Movie Marathon

There are so many Halloween movies from the Addams Family to Halloween, there is something for the entire family. Grab some popcorn and candy, turn off the lights and enjoy movie night.

Fire Pit Party

Sit around the fire pit and roast marshmallows and make s’mores. Tell everyone to put away all electronic devices and tell scary stories. Live in the moment and create memories.

Create an Indoor Tent

If you don’t have an outdoor fire pit, that’s okay. Put some blankets on the living room floor and build a tent out of sheets. Turn off the lights, grab a flashlight and tell scary stories.

Halloween Candy Hunt

If the kids can’t go out trick-or-treating, set up a fun candy hunt. Use your plastic Easter eggs and decorate them for Halloween or buy Halloween themed eggs. Place candy and glow sticks in the eggs and hide them inside or outside and let the kids begin their search.

Zoom Costume Party

Since we are all still social distancing, set up a fun zoom costume party for the kids and adults. Create a fun playlist to dance to, have theme inspired drinks for the adults and get creative with your costumes. It’s a great way to have a fun and safe Halloween during the pandemic.
